My name is Alex. Lifelong Pokemon fan, video game enjoyer, cosplayer, consumer of anime, and illustration graduate from The University of the Arts. Yes, the one that closed abruptly with no warning to students or staff. Luckily, I was already two years an alumni when that happened. Unfortunately, because the school no longer exists, any benefits I would have had as an alumni are probably gone. Including all that free digital storage space. Just another wrench thrown my way as I attempt to launch my art career among the hellscape that is the United States.

Despite the seemingly infinite financial roadblocks and mentally/physically draining historical events that keep happening, I have no intention to stop making art. I want to keep growing as an artist and bring the numerous projects in my head to fruition. I will never use generative ai in any of my work. That is not art, never will be, and anyone who thinks it is is just an ignorant, lazy capitalist. I would love to one day table at a convention. I want to launch a shop to sell handmade art and prints. My mother, sister and I are actively working to launch an online shop featuring our various handmade products ranging from knit and crochet items to art prints to jewelry. There’s too much I want to do to let a bunch of bozos in the white house or some idiotic tech bros stop me.

All that to say, fuck Trump, fuck Elon, lgbtq+ people exist and deserve rights, black lives matter, free Palestine, immigrants are not a problem, and if you have a problem with any of this you can go right back to your little bubble. It’s not politics, it’s reality.
